Twelve Unlikely Heroes By John MacArthur review

I was able to read this book through Book Sneeze and at first because of the author I was not to sure I would like it. I read John MacArthur's first book and I can away from that feeling like he was putting to much emphasis on works and not enough on the love and grace of God. However I really really loved Twelve unlikely Heroes and learned so much from it. This is a study book it will teach you things you never knew about the heroes of the bible and show you how God works through even the most unlikely people.

This book had really made me want to read the other books like it from Mr MacArthur and I am really looking forward to reading them.If you are looking for a well written and informative book about the people in the bible who seem to be less that perfect than this is totally the book for you.

I loved reading it and looked forward to reading it each morning because it was like discovering the inside scoop about biblical figures who's story I knew but only basically, and wanted to learn more about. This study is complete and I would recommend it to any friend who loves biblical history.

Each chapter if filled with different way of looking at these Heroes and how God worked in their lived in spite of themselves.

I was so happy when I was selected to try Country Bobs All Purpose Sauce recently. I received 2 bottles and went to work experimenting with it. Country Bobs All Purpose Sauce is very tasty and unique, it works well with any kind of steak, chicken and even shrimp, I made a shrimp stir fry and added some Country Bobs All Purpose Sauce to it while I was stir frying it and Wow does it taste great. Its almost like I took the time to BBQ the shrimp on a grill.

I love the fact that Country Bobs All Purpose Sauce has a different delicious flavor that works well with so many things. I think its really awesome on sweet potato fries, the flavor really pops and makes anything better.

More than just uniqueness and flavor the people behind Country Bobs All Purpose Sauce are just so nice and friendly. This company really cares about the consumer and is dedicated to making a superior sauce so that you can really create some wonderful family dinners. Here is the dish I made with Country Bobs today, all you need is some shrimp that was stir fried with Pompeian OlivExtra oil blend and about 2 tablespoons of Country Bobs all Purpose sauce mixed into the oil . Than I stir fried some broccoli and mixed it all in together. Here are the photos of the prep. Its quick and easy and very good.

Raspberry Delight and Cowboy Boot Winner Annouced

Yummy in my Tummy

The dishes are Pottery Barn.

My Monday started off pretty alright. First with a big piece of Raspberry Delight (recipe to follow), I actually had to wear a sweatshirt to the barn because the temperature FINALLY dropped, and then we gave the calves their vaccinations and new IDs (it's kind of like them getting ready for back to school. I'll have a post and pictures on it). I love the mornings when I get to be on the farm for a bit before I go into the office.

Now first a recipe, and then I'll announce who won the boots.

Raspberry Delight
I found this recipe on Pinterest and it was a big score in my house. The recipe is originally from Taste of Home, but I wanted to add some of my own commentary.

Ingredients
2-1/4 cups of all purpose flour
2 teaspoons sugar
3/4 cup cold butter, cubed

Filling
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened (I used 1/3 less fat kind) You can soften it by leaving on the counter, or zapping in the microwave for 20 seconds at a time
1 cup confectioners' suger (powdered sugar)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups whipped topping (I used light)

Topping
2 packages (3 ounces each) raspberry gelatin
2 cups boiling water
2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen raspberries (the recipe says sweetened raspberries, but I used non sweetened and it still tasted great)
Additional whipped topping

Directions
In large bowl, combine flour and sugar; cut in butter until mixture resembles crumbles. Press into an ungreased 13 in x 9 in backing pan. I used my KitchenAid and it was really powdery, but turned out just fine. (I was really skeptical to begin with).

Bake 300 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until set (crust will not brown). Cool on wire rack.

In small bowl, beat the cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, vanilla and salt until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Spread over crust.

For the topping dissolve gelatin in boiling water; stir in raspberries. Chill for 20 minutes until mixture behinds to thicken. My did not even come close to thickening after 40 minutes. I think next time I'll try a shallower bowl. I still poured it onto the filling really runny, but it firmed up and everything tuned out great. Refrigerate until set.

Boom an amazing dessert.

Now for the winner of the Shyanne boots!

Highheelsandshotgunshells Happy Monday, you just won a pair of boots! If you can email me (address is under the About Me tab) we'll get you a new pair of boots! Thank you again to the Boot Barn for the giveaway.
